Not a fun day today

So today we had to get up around 5:00 (it was supposed to be more like 4:30 but ugh....). I took a shower like I will sometimes and then got the rest of the gang up. We had a big day ahead of us. Justin had school so he went to his friend's Erick's house and then the rest of us headed to the hospital, Hannah was having her oral surgery today. Justin had to have oral surgery at the age of 5 because my children have very soft teeth, it runs in my family. So we get to the hospital, get checked in and its off to the waiting area. We were there for a little while and the dr. came in and then she got to drink the versa (not sure if that's how you spell it) and man was she loopy. It was so funny and I was laughing at the way she was acting and crying at the same time because my baby was all drugged up and out of it. (When Justin had that stuff before his teeth, he was talking about how our cats were red and green so I expected some funny behavior) Then they came and took my sweet baby of only 3 into surgery as Brian and I tried to hold back the tears. Waiting impatiently in the atrium of Lourdes Hospital, the nurse came out after about an hour and delivered some bad news, none of Hannah's top teeth could be saved. Brian spoke with the dentist briefly over the phone and he assured us that this was the best option for her. So we waited 2 more hours, getting more and more nervous as the time passed and of course now I'm crying because my baby isn't going to have any top teeth. Finally the dentist comes out to let us know that everything went well. A few minutes later and we were able to go meet her in recovery where as we were walking down the hall could hear her crying. I don't know that I've ever seen Brian move so fast. I am happy to report that my little chipmunk is doing good now. She's a little sore and moody but hey, who wouldn't be after having 8 teeth pulled? I will try to get some pictures tonight after I get the batteries for the camera back from Brian. And I ask everyone to pray for me that I do not have to go through this again with Caleb, I will be doing a lot of things differently this time!!!

It's Soccer Mom Time

So soccer started a couple weeks ago. I've been pretty busy lately because I went back to work for a total of 4 weeks to help my ex-coworkers get caught up on some stuff and to make some extra money to help us get caught up on some stuff, 3 kids are pretty expensive. My boss is paying for my day care. It was so tough leaving Caleb but he's been doing super and it makes me appreciate our time together at nights and on the weekends so much more special. Anyway, I wanted to share some pictures.

This year Hannah was able to start playing big ball soccer, it's so cute seeing the kids her size running with a ball that is almost their size. They try to kick it but it's just easier to push it really. Hannah usually seems more intersted in playing when Justin does, when it's her turn she's "too tired"

Justin got a goal this past weekend. We're so proud!!! He also got hit right in the stomach with a fast flying soccer ball. He only cried for a few minutes and back in the game he went. Such a tough cookie. Brian had to work this weekend so I was at the game with the kids by myself. Hannah had pictures, you should see how funny it is to try and get 20 3 year olds to sit still long enough to get a picture of all of them together. That was hilarius. Then Hannah had her game and then Justin had his. We were all pretty tired that night!! And Caleb was pretty tired too, here is him attempting to take a nap....

I know you're not really supposed to lie them down and prop their bottles up, but I was trying to get Hannah to do her pictures and I had my hands pretty full!!! So, that was soccer weekend. I should be on here more soon!! Thanks for reading!! :)

Moms

So I was just sitting here thinking how bored I am. It's late, the kids are asleep and Brian is at work. I woke Caleb up a little while ago to change his diaper and put his jammies on him and he talked and smiled for a couple minutes, then it was feeding time which led to back to sleep time. So I've just been sitting here thinking about my life and my kids and I started thinking about something Hannah has been saying lately. It gets a bit confusing for her sometimes because Justin has 2 dads, he has his biological father and then he has Brian. My neice Alexus also has 2 moms, my sister and my mother who is raising her. So now if you ask Hannah, she will tell you she has 3 mothers. I haven't found out yet who the other mothers are but it got me to thinking who my "moms" have been through my life. Of course I have my Mom and I have my grandmother who raised my brother Bryan and I so she is also Mom to me. But a couple other very fine ladies I have called "Mom" through the years are mothers of my dear friends. They have also helped mold the person I am today even though to remember them from high school, they were like my mom, horribly mean, controlling woman who didn't understand anything I was going through.. :) I guess years of being a mom has taught me that they knew a little more than I thought they did. (Even though Ellyn and I discussed today that we still knew more :) )

Another woman that I was truly honored to call Mom was my mother-in-law, Sherri, who sadly passed away this February from lung cancer. She was such an amazing person, who touched so many lives! I was amazed to see just a portion of them at her funeral where it was practically standing room only. Sherri was a person who shared her opinions openly and we butt heads a couple times but now looking back, as I have so many times on my own mom and "mothers" I realize that the stuff she was telling me was for my own good and for the good of my family. I miss her so much now and think its so unfair that I don't have her to talk to about my kids. Its not fair she never got to see my son, her grandson or see Hannah past her 3rd birthday. She was only 46, she was supposed to be around so much longer. But if she ever felt that way about it, she didn't let anyone know. She was strong right to the very end and I hope now that she's looking down on me and my family, she is proud. I hope she knows how honored I feel to have had her as a mom in my life.

I love this phase!!

I'm amazed everyday by how wonderful being a parent is. Though there are many trying times and I know so many more to come, just seeing their little smiling faces or hearing them tell you they love you is the most amazing feeling in the world. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Now that Hannah is 3, I had forgotten how cute she was when she was just learning to smile and make little cooing noises. This morning Brian was playing with Caleb and luckily I had the camera close. I just love technology these days because not only is it a camera, but a camcorder so here is our cute conversation from this morning.

You will hear Brian in there a little better than you can actually hear Caleb but I love the smiles. I can't believe it's been 6 weeks already!!!! Anyway, it's now time to go do some laundry and get ready for dinner. Hope you enjoy.

My first blog

So thanks to my good friend Ellyn (you will see her in pics later on) I have started my own blog page or whatever you call it. I can't promise that it will be very frequent or exciting, I have just entered the world of Stay at home Mom so I'm not sure how thrilling my stories will be, but I'm sure I'll have lots of pictures to share. I look forward to posting soon....
